Albright LIFE COVID-19 Update

Dear Participants and Staff:

On March 16, 2020 Governor Wolf announced mitigation strategies to stop the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) that include the statewide closures of day program facilities including Older Adult facilities, Adult Training facilities, and Prevocational facilities. These closures are effective today, March 17, 2020 and are in effect until further notice. Albright LIFE will be closing our doors to participants only effective today until further notice. The staff will continue to work to ensure your needs are safely met in your home.

I have directed the program directors in each location to perform the following:

  • An emergency call blast was sent at the end of the day on March 16, 2020 to all staff and participants announcing the closure and informing you that a staff member would be calling you in the am of March 17, 2020 to assess your needs. As per Governor Wolf and the Department of Human Services we have been instructed to limit face to face contact with participants to decrease the risk of spreading the virus. During the phone call in the am we will be assessing and triaging all participants. We will then meet as a team to discuss the day’s plan of action. You may call the office or an on call nurse with any questions, concerns, emergencies, etc.
  • All employees will meet in the am in the center to discuss plan of action. An administrative employee will be in each facility to facilitate the meetings and to assist staff with plans. All employees will fill out the Associate Surveillance Questionnaire which assesses for any known or unknown risk of contracting this virus. They will also have their temperatures taken daily prior to working.
  • After all calls are made the entire team will formulate a plan for the day with assistance of program director and facilitators if needed.
  • Going forward all staff will continue with the above plan but will only be calling those participants that are scheduled to come to the center that day and any participants that are identified as high risk.

There is nothing more important than the health and safety of our participants and our employees. Our commitment to providing a safe environment for those we serve is as strong as ever. Please call the Albright LIFE Center at (570) 376-322-5433 if you have any questions or concerns.

Pamela Kennedy, RN – Executive Director, Albright LIFE
